iOS 7 adoption quickly increasing

Apple has reported that 82% of all iOS users have upgraded to the seventh iteration of the popular mobile and tablet OS.

How did Apple gauge this number?

They based it off of the amount of people heading to the app store. Only 15% of those who visited the store are still using iOS 6, while the remaining 3% are still reluctant to upgrade and are operating on even older versions.

iOS 7 was widely downloaded out of the gate. Tim Cook deemed the upgrade to iOS 7 “the fastest software upgrade in history.” There was a 64% adoption rate from the get go, which is an impressive number, indeed.

For comparison purposes, Android 4.4 Kit Kat is only operating on 1.8% of Droid devices. This is partly due to the fact that there are more Android models available than there are iPhones, so software optimization makes it difficult to roll out updates to all devices.

Have you upgraded to iOS 7? If so, how are you enjoying it?
