Maybe because of the fact thats its the most simple OS to use? Most people dont want to have the hassle of backing up all their data, purchasing the OS for $199.99+, waiting for the install, and learning the new OS and its features.

The common user buys a computer for its functions, Internet, Storage, Multimedia, Gaming. They dont care too much whether its XP, Vista or Windows 7. Just that its a computer and can do what they need it to.

Besides, the only game I know that uses DirectX11 is Dirt2 for PC, which makes the game suck even worse if your computer isnt spec'd high enough. And as for the flashy looking toolbar, who cares? It performs the same.

So, go back to your "fossil time" and learn to form a proper sentance. Newer doesnt necesarily mean that its better. If I told you there was a new car that was a POS compared to your car, you going to buy it because its new? No, reliability is more important then "new" and "more eyecandy looking".

-Disclaimer:

Im not bashing Windows 7, I have a desktop and a laptop with Windows 7 and XP respectively, I'm just making a point that an average user doesnt care about bells and whistles, just usablilty and reliability.

why are people keep using xp when there is newer OSes wich are better and greater feature like: e.g. directX11 more eyecandy looking window...

mmmhhh maybe you all want to die untill you never use the time when there was a time that it was release at a certain period... maybe you want all guys to use old once or maybe we should stop making technology so there will be no newer to confront with or we should go back to the fossil time isnt it?

As a Korean, such hate posts won't do anything but earn you IP bans from the moderator.

I ain't a fan of Chinese culture, but the fact remains that China assembles and exports phones to countries and towns in which you reside. As such, show some repect mate.

Though granted; @hoang, your post was completely 'un-beneficial' to what this thread is about. Either type something constructive or just don't type at all.

"you shouldn't expect bugs..."
It's a beta; that's what it's made for, to show up with bugs that end-users can report to MS themselves. If it didn't have many bugs then this would be in the go GOLD release stages.

Anyways, it does have a decent number of bugs. The little arrow next to a favourites link is gone (it allows one to open a favourites page in a new tab). It's there for an entire folder but not for individual links.

There really should be an option to:
- Show the tabs under or at least above the address bar. Kinda squishing the two at the top, for heavy tab users, is inconvenient...
- Show the menu bar. The average user don't need it, but I'm on the technical side of things and having that around is something I'd prefer.

It does look good, I'll give it that. Close to Chrome in GUI, but nowhere near the performance. It feels more like IE8, just prettier (and it eats more RAM, though I'm guessing that's due to increased AERO implemenation).

I use a VAIO Z, a laptop with hybrid graphics. It's rather buggy in that I get a BSOD when I switch the GPU from nVidia to Intel (though not from Intel to nVidia, though I think I know why for that). The crash is related to dxdiag so something is buggy with IE9's hardware acceleration module; it rarely did this with IE8.

Yeah, well, a work in progress. I good step forward in any case. The GUI is clean and simple, though I'd prefer being able to choose what I want with extra settings...
