Sure, but nobody gives a flying crap about reality. It's all about having more cores, memory, more of anything. Everybody wants a 30 core CPU, even if they never run multithread software. So logic has no place around here, it's all about "the bigger, the better". Unfortunately.

So it's not about performance, reliability, design, it's about the low price. To low for your standards? ;)

OC on intel? probably with sandy bridge, but not on ivy. on top, with price range 6300 matches i3 (if not cheaper) and can be OC-ed (stable air cooler OC to 4.4 ghz) 8350 matches i5 3570k price point and again can be oc-ed for better performance (although not as well as 6300). mobo price is not even included here (z77 boards are slightly more expensive as with the CPUs, overall AMD setup is around £30-50 cheaper even with fx 8350). Multi threat is better on AMD, and if you are gaming, well use that money saved to buy better gpu.
If I went for higher performance rig using i7, sure no competition there. But overall use AMD is better value still compared to intel.

AMD value for the money for overclockers? Absolutely not, you can always OC more on an Intel setup for the same price. Intel all the way for performance, AMD belongs in budget systems and even then the Intel alternatives are more tempting.

hyperthreading... finally coz its strange that the older core i3 line had no hyperthreading while the intel atom series had hyperthreading.
It just made me think, what the hell was intel thinking not implementing hyperthreading on all its higher performing processors when the simplest atom had hyperthreading.
