Well all of you must be young people I’m 32 and my first phone when iwas 17 was a bag phone on bell atlantic mobile and phone bills were 200 a month for just phone svc then handheld phones cam out and I got the first oneit weighed a couple pounds and it was shaped just like a brick square with pointy corners what’s a few mm for battery to last twice as long. The razr dies after 4 hours so I’m sending that back rezound is great so far, getting extended battery tomorrow half price Verizon is great that was my second worry free exchange and I got phone for half price cause issues with those certified phones sold my Droid x2 for 150 on craigslist so I got rezound for free basically I pay a lot for svc but get great customer svc Verizon

… remembercouple of years back – the golden age of N-type serial sets, N85, N73.. (abt 19 mm), N70, N72, N95 (+21mm) – just to mention some , many people used them with least discomfort as some still do . IMO hype is something but really as some implied functionality is what affects your sense of comfort. I vote for a bit thicker(or even uglier as some said)but sure and functional for my average needs. tnx HTC as far as an option provided

Most of modern phones are crazy thin and slim. I have big hands and often i drop the small phones on the ground. Big phones are very rare today, they gives me better grip,and bigger battery so this one makes me very happy.

lets start understand the basic. GSM Mode with no data needs 3.7v 600ma for 4 to 6 hours of talk time. small screen size color 2 inch.

3G / 4G WCdma 4 to 6 hours talk time require 3.7 at 900ma
at 2 inch screen sizes. running data requre 20 -30 % more battery power.
now we are down to 3 – 4.75 hours in a 3.7v 900ma (Internet Tethering)
Wifi Hotspot 10 to 15 % less   2.75 – 4 hours
light for the LCD / LED screen 20 to 50 % depening on the size 2 inch to 5 inchs
2 to 2.6 hours at 3.7 900ma
microSD 3 %    2 to 2.5 hours at 3.7 900ma
( CPU single Core 20% Dual Core 30% )   Battery Life 1.8 to 2.2 hours at 3.7 900ma

An extra Band which is LTE require 5 to 10 % more battery power
at 3.7 900ma      1.6 to 2 hours
at 3.7 1800ma   3.25 to 4 hours
at 3.7 2700ma    4.8 to 6 hours

Voice call only time is 6.5 - 9 hours. at 3.7 2700ma for this unit.

If the battery covers all back side, it will sacrifice antenna surface and component cooling. If component runs hotter, resistance is higher than it sucks more power. Same with antenna, if it has less surface than the phone will suck more power to transmit signal. So this is trade off of multiple aspects.

manufacturers should hurry for the implementation of hybrid powered smartphone using solar screen display in the front and kinetic inside that harvest energy and convert it to alternative current.. would that be a good IDEA?
