No one EVER demonstrated that “display, hardware, design…” LG is the best. Samsung has been on top hardware-wise, Sony, Nokia and Apple are above LG design-wise (Optimus G is their first eye-catching design IMO). Haven’t really seen anything above competition in the Display segment either. And add the support problem to all of that, you end up with a mediocre phone company, certainly not “the best”.

You guys are all stupid all of those benchmarks are dumb. I have the Droid DNA and I smashed all those phones in all those benchmarks. I unplug my phone at 6am and don’t plug it back in until after 8pm. Just learn how to manage your apps and dumb live wallpapers. The Nexus is the best AOSP device. I live it but bigger is always better. Ask your moms.

Most people are NOT smartphone “junkies”, they just want a nice-looking phone, that can call, text, email, take an okay-looking photo, play games, videos, music and has a battery that can last until they get home. All the rest of it means absolutely nothing to them. Whether they are “unaware” or “don’t care”, they probably make up the vast majority of purchasers. I’m part “junkie”, part “don’t care”.

100% agree with you.I got my GS3 4 days ago even that there’re other phones around with ”better specs”.My top 3 reasons in getting it are:
Sd slot.
Removable battery.
Proper updates(as you said the GS2 will get jelly bean while the likes of htc sensation and optimus 4x won’t).

And really,benchmarks don’t mean anything.Go to pocketnowvideo’s youtube channel,there’s a performance comparison between the htc one X(tegra 3),Galaxy S3(exynos)and Optimus G(s4 pro).On paper,the optimus G is better with the s4 pro chip but in real life performance,they are all almost the same.The optmius G even lost in certain tests.

Exactly how bad is the cpu in the Galaxy S3? It only shows up in one of the tests and even there it comes last!?!?!?

obviously.. It’s a reference/developer device from Google.. It’s not meant to compete in processing power like other flagships.. if it is to compete, and Google make it like the SGS3/DNA/OG, then all other manufacturers can either close down or drop their prices really low just to compete with the Nexus.. It is and will never meant to be flagship.. It will always be an android reference device..

nothing wrong with the battery,and the display may consume even less than an old generation.stop bitchin’around,will see a full test and after that you can complain.let’s not forget htc makes best software optimization and lately invested a lot of effort not to put a huge battery,instead focusing on less consumption of hardware.
