Typing is the same and that 0.0001 inch will never make a difference, especially on tablets. It’s actually worse on iPad because the height of the tablet/page is cut and the keyboard covers even more text up.

Modern books reflow text and no, they don’t have a 4:3 aspect ratio… like that would matter anyway.

so what? 16:9 or 16:10 is a lot worse for typing (too narrow in portrait mode and too wide in landscape), is worse for reading books, worse for pictures (cuz no, 16:9 pictures is not the standard) – a tablet is not a TV so 16:9 is not better just becuz you have smaller black bars while playing video, that’s the only advantage it has over 4:3…

people used to say the same thing about the retina display and guess what? it has even a better battery life than 3Gs and many other smartphones

To drive such a big amount of pixels (3.2MP) they will need to fit the new iPad with a Quad-core CPU and a very strong GPU. Even most desktops today work with 2/3 of this resolution – FullHD (1920×1080 – around 2MP)
More pixels = more memory = more processing power = more battery -> it seems that Apple will have a lot of work to come out with a tablet with this resolution.
And if they succeed, they will really have to be respected!
The big problem is that they produce fantastic peaces of hardware and load it with a terrible OS like iOS!

i think the ‘ipad 3′ users will struggle to see the pixels in 264ppi… this is because the distance between the eye and the screen is quite far
