This has been improved in gingerbread.
Its the apps that aren’t written to take advantage of dualcores.
Now if gta 3 does make it to android then it might be the first app to use dualcores.

In the original desktop game there were lots of vehicles/objects that are either walking/ running or doing something else and this will strain the CPU performance, but if the visuals prove nothing better than the desktop version i’d say this is a complete gimmick to force users to upgrade, since even a 900Mhz AMD/Intel CPU can run the desktop game for as long as there is a proper graphics card installed.

for the GS2 users i’m pretty sure you guys would wait for a while before your prized device gets Ice Cream Sandwich, Samsung as well as HTC and LG are really slow at upgrading the Android OS due to their deep customizations. SE phones have the fastest upgrade path right now trailing only behind the non-UI-customized Google Nexus phones.
