First time I saw it on a desktop machine was 21 October, but it was replaced by the traditional layout just one day later…only to reappear three days ago.

In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s a very close match for their mobile website, as seen on Android devices (see att’d. image from GB 2.3.4). Even so, until there’s some official announcement from Google I think we must assume it’s not the final, approved version.
