But iOS is far more widespread than WP, meaning more profit for google. Google may wait to invest in WP until it becomes more popular (hopefully soon) because the money google would use to allow WP users to use their services would not come back in profit with a low profile OS.

Then using that logic they should also block it from iOS (instead of building what is arguably the best Google maps app for the iphone). Or in the browser space, block Firefox, Safari, Opera and IE.

U need to know that microsoft has a history of playing dirty on accuitiitioning competitors and making it asma guinea pig and end up kiloing the business..that,s how they dominate the PC market at around 2000..so what google does is pretty much ethical IMO, it’s their product, they can do what they want with it..and no, the will make more profit by selling android along with android compatible apps then selling it to WP user..

Um, it doesn’t work because Google Maps specifically checks for the UA string ‘Windows Phone’ and redirects those users. If you change the UA, it works. How can that possibly be anyone’s fault but Google’s?

I adore Google as a company. But people who are arguing in favour of Google, what if Microsoft gives some stupid excuse and doesn’t let Google chrome install on Windows OS on desktop and laptops ? What will Google do then ? And this global age each company needs each other. All this patent shit, cutting each others competition through illegal practices should stop. At the end the user suffers.
