Go to where your apps are and tap “Locations” (HTC maps app).
From the options menu, select “Get more”.
Select the “Download” tab.
Expand the list of continents to download individual country maps

I had a E71 before buying an Android, and to be fair, Nokia Maps is better then Google Maps in many aspects…

I have an HTC too, how do you download whole country maps for free?

My previously cached10-mile radius areas have been deleted. Now when I select some of them to save offline it says “offline map not available”. This is a true feature regression. And I just read there is no routing or navigation. Good thing I have an HTC and can download whole country maps for free :)

Oh, come on…. what are all this posts about Nokia Maps? Microsoft is paying good money, but they should teach you how to work in disguise. Btw, if I wanted a navigator with a crappy OS I could use my Garmin Nuvi. We don’t care about Nokia, Nokia Maps and Windows phone, no matter how many posts you Microsoft employees manage to put on every existing forum on the internet.

Oh fer cryin’ out loud, one can just use OpenStreetMap if so inclined – free to use, not regionally restricted, available through a number of different apps (some with voice navigation), some of which can keep most of Europe on your device offline, permanently – which is pretty well covered and up-to-date I’d say. If you needed GMaps to guide you to the nearest whatever all the time, you might find it more comprehensive than OSM – but I’m not sure you can do that with cached maps anyway.
