It’s not the shops who dictate the phone prices. In US and UK the Nexus phone prices are set by Google, outside US/UK the phone prices are set by the phone manufactures (eg. LG sets the price for Nexus 4, Samsung for Nexus 10 and so on). The shop can’t sell you a phone for 300$ if they bought it from LG for 500$.

The situation sucks, but it’s not the shops’ fault.
