Not exactly.(To be more specific, it`s a collaboration between Google's data and data collected from Google's Map Maker members). And you do realize that Google said satellite images were the main source, right? Also, Google said a large number of people in South Korea had contributed information to create usable maps, but you should Keep in the back of your mind that there are restricted areas and not much [readily available] local knowledge outside of North Korea.

You realise this is an effort by citizens of North Korea using Google Map Maker, not by Google themselves, right?
