Let user decide which OS they want to choose. I am a big fan of Android and using it since a year but never found any problem in OS. It is running smoothly. :-)

google makes OS..but it is manufacturers. It is open system, and everyone wants to give android their own taste. If that wasn’t case there won’t be much fragmentation (apart from hardware limitation)

..that said, before you complain about fragmentation do you know what the difference is in each OS versions?
and if you are so keen on OS upgrades, people who wants them find a way (custom rom or else) usually a better choice than wait for manufacturer’s crap (i.e timescape, touchwiz, I;d say sense too although I like this..)

@becb6f914cf40436c372e564e419de37:disqus WP is not in early stage. It had far more manufacturers and developers than when android started. It has been in market now for more than a year, yet it does not even cannibalise its own market (WM 5/6/6.1 etc), and loses ground to others.
Also WP has never been able to demonstrate level of competence other ‘smartphones’ can do. I don’t care if it does not crash, or smooth, or has fancy tiles that updates itself. In a year I have used WP7 (and 7.5) I suffered from lack of storage options, lack of decent/usable apps, lack of file transfer (not BT..I am talking USB to my goddamn computer for my documents), ghost data usage, lack of decent satnav support, lack of decent multitasking, and ofc flash/silverlight support.

Best of this is that most of above are supported by aeons old WM devices.

@twitter-498690794:disqus wp7 is not yet even started to masses. it’s on level where android have been with htc dream, htc hero etc. android wasn’t popular at all until android 2.1. wait for apollo and mass availability around the world.
