Here goes the early Nokia N1 scoop – camera samples, unboxings, disassemblies

The Nokia N1 Android 5.0 Lollipop tablet is out in China and already some 20 thousand people have it on tap so now it’s time for the early impressions.

There’s a slew of unboxing photos accompanied by impressions, some benchmarks, a couple of camera samples and even a disassembly of the tablet. You can find those right after the break.

One user has posted an extensive unboxing and impressions post on the Nokia N1 featuring the minimalist, black retail box, the aluminum-clad N1 tablet, the AC adapter and microUSB cable, a 360-degree look at the sweet hardware of the $260 Nokia slate and a demonstration of content showing on the 7.9″ 1536 x 2048px IPS LCD.

Attached in the impressions is an AnTuTu 5 score of 46933 which doesn’t quite step up to the 60k result of the 64-bit Tegra K1-yielding Nexus 9 but is still the best among compact tablet competition. You can also find a look at Android Lollipop and Nokia Z launcher in the first source link.

Another user has managed to tear open the new slate and reveal all its innards – battery, Intel chipset, camera module – the lot.

Nokia N1 disassembly

Hammering things home are a couple of images snapped with the tablet’s back-mounted 8MP camera. Sadly they have been downresized so we can’t really see the true potential.

Nokia N1 rezised camera samples

The Nokia N1 unit pictured in the hands-on belongs to one of the lucky 24 people (number 21, in fact) that won a Nokia N1 for free. Boy we can’t wait to check out this iPad mini 3 rival in its metal flesh.
