It is no surprise that the GSmart performs worse than the Galaxy Ace Plus. Unless the author is trying to say that the phones are likely to be competitors to each other (i.e. same features, price bracket, etc.). Otherwise, the line "which sports a single-core processor too" makes no sense.

It has the same processor as the original Galaxy Ace (according to GSMArena's own database). Which is a Qualcomm MSM7227T, using an ARMv6 (aka ARM11) processor at 800MHz. The Galaxy Ace Plus has an ARMv7 (Snapdragon S1) processor at 1GHz.

Some years back, the iPhone 3GS came out with a Cortex-A8 processor, its clock speed wasn't much faster than the iPhone 3G - but the iPhone 3G was using a ARM11 processor, while the Cortex-A8 is ARMv7 which is a newer generation of ARM architecture. The newer generation of ARM processors does more work per clock, just like a Core i5 at 3GHz has better performance per core than a C2D at 3GHz.

By the way, only phones with the newer ARMv7 processors support Flash on Android - that is why some of the cheaper phones don't support Flash Player. It's because Flash on Android has been coded to use specific things only available in the newer processors to improve performance.
