Galaxy Tab Unpacked teasers continue surfacing, there’s no stopping Samsung

We’ve come across yet another teaser of the Samsung Unpacked event and the supposed 8.9-inch tablet it revolves around. This time the video focuses on delighted consumers, talking about their Tab experience.

The guys in the video appear to be holding a Galaxy Tab original, a white one. They talk about the effect that the device has on their personality and their life. At the end of the video you can see more obscure shots of the new unannounced tablet. Read more »

Amazon App Store uncovered early, has exclusive content and competitive prices

The secret art of URL guessing – sometimes it pays off. Someone decided to add /apps after amazon.com and the upcoming Android app store was revealed. It was stocked with about 50 apps, some exclusive and some cheaper than in Google’s Market.

Meet Verizon’s new army of droids – Motorola DROID X2, DROID 3 and Targa and the HTC Incredible 2

Verizon is on course to launch another batch of powerful Android smartphones. No less than three high-end Motorola droid just leaked, along with the HTC Incredible 2 leaked today, confirming that the Verizon iPhone 4 hasn’t quenched the carrier’s thirst for smartphones.

An unannounced 10-inch HTC tablet and 8.9-inch Samsung tablet come alive in Rumorland

For those of you who haven’t heard of Staples – it’s one of the biggest stores for office equipment in the world. And they seem to be awaiting new additions to their tablet line-up from Samsung, HTC, Dell, Acer, Toshiba and HP. All of them labeled as “Coming Soon”.

First off, judging by the information given by Staples, the soon to be un-packed Samsung 8.9-inch tab is a reality. Samsung is announcing it on the 23rd of March. It’s supposed to be an Android 3.0 Honeycomb-driven device. Read more »

Amazon Germany momentarily shows iPad 2 specs and price – 1.2GHz CPU, 3G+Wi-Fi, 16GB and Thunderbolt for 499 euro

The official iPad 2 announcement is drawing close (6PM London time) but that’s not stopping last-minute leaks. We already eyed up the supposed leaked photos of the second-generation iPad and now apparently Amazon Germany jumped the gun and (accidentally!) put their iPad 2 listing out in the open.

We could see a 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab unveiled next month

Reportedly, a Samsung spokesperson contacted a Korean news outlet informing them Samsung will release a 8.9-inch Android tablet in the first half of the year. Following the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the manufacturer is about to unveil a smaller tablet, but still one that’s bigger than the original Galaxy Tab.

It seems there’s no stopping the tablet war from escalating.

Beta of Windows 8 a.k.a. Next could be ready by September, RTM in mid-2012?

What do you know, it turns out that Windows 8 may be surprisingly close – a leaked roadmap has led to speculation that Windows 8 (codenamed Windows Next) could turn up in beta form at Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference (PDC) in September.

The slimmest smartphone in the world leaks, heads right off to Japan

If you have a thing for smartphones as thick as credit cards you might start packing. You see the 7.7mm-measuring Android Froyo-running NEC Medias N-04C has just leaked, but it’s headed for the Japanese market.

The NEC Medias is headed to NTT DoCoMo, the largest carrier in the country of the rising sun, and we suspect its announcement should come soon (after all the promo materials are obviously ready). Read more »

Apple iPad 2 enters production, could it use a Super PLS LCD by Samsung?

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the second generation of the Apple iPad has now entered production. This means that the iPad 2 will be ready to ship the end of February. Last year we had to wait till April to get it.

WSJ also suggests that the fancy ultra high-resolution screen we’ve been having dreams about won’t make it to the new Apple iPad 2. Instead, the current screen with resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels will be used. Read more »

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play first official video commercial leaks, looks creepy

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play has just got its first official ad… via unofficial channels. As everything else about the PSP phone, this video is another leak surfaced quite ahead of the official premiere on 13 February.

If Sony Ericsson is really concerned about keeping its secrets safe, perhaps it should put a bit more effort into keeping these stuff for itself. Don’t get us wrong, we’re not complaining. Everybody likes to have a sneak peek at things ahead of the official announcement.

HTC Pyramid has a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and 4.3-inch 960×540 screen, headed for T-Mobile USA?

With all those Tegra 2 headlines becoming the hottest news around we were beginning to wonder when HTC would finally step up and announce a dual-core device of their own. As it just so happens information about such a handset has leaked today and it looks bound for T-Mobile USA for now.

Facebook phone leaks again, confirms camera and GPS; Updated

It wasn’t too long ago that Facebook denied any interest in creating its own smartphone and yet here we have another rumor of the development of one. Apparently one of the Boy Genius Report readers was a part of the focus group for the upcoming device. And then there’s this other report that HTC will be revealing two Facebook-branded hadnsets at the MWC.

According to City AM HTC will be revealing a couple of Android handsets carrying the Facebook logo. They will be high-end devices with specially modified interface, that will bring the Facebook integration to a new level. Using your friends profile data to write an email or call them is among the rumored features.

Update: Facebook has just issued another public statement, denying they are working on such phones. They did confirm that HTC are making use of some new API to extend the Facebook integration in their upcoming smartphones. Those devices won’t be carrying the blue F logo, though.

WebOS-based HP Topaz tablet photos and specs leak, confirm dual-core Snapdraggon

Palm and their webOS were expected to be the next big thing in smartphones, but unfortunately the company ran out of money before it managed to make an impact. However now that they have the backing of HP there is every chance that the excellent OS will get the chance to prove its worth in the tablet world.

Some photos of the upcoming HP Topaz tablet leaked, along with the detailed specs sheet and it all looks pretty promising. Built around the Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon platform, featuring two Scorpion cores running at 1.2 GHz and the new Adreno 220 GPU, the Topaz will have all the computing power it needs to run webOS on the 9.7” XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) screen. Quad-core Tegra 3 and Tegra 2 with 3D in the pipeline, says NVIDIA roadmap

A product roadmap of the Tegra family of processors leaked today and it shows what NVIDIA holds for the near future. We are already familiar with the Tegra 2 SoC but we are yet to see how the latest LG and Motorola smartphones benefit from this raging beast inside them.
