by 7 comments

Not only is the BlackBerry Touch 9860 not officially available yet, it hasn’t even been properly announced. However this didn’t stop a prototype unit from getting listed on the Dubai ad site of Dubizzle.com.

Apparently, someone got hold of a prototype well ahead of its release and decided to earn some cash from it. The asking price is 5,500 United Arab Emirates dirhams, which equals about €1,050 or $1500. For that price you are only getting the handset and a battery and no accessories. Read more »

More details on the Galaxy S II for AT&T surface, Attain name to be dropped

by 20 comments

We just got a portion of Galaxy S II news for our American droid-loving friends. One of our readers managed to squeeze a few details about the arrival of the coveted smartphone to the AT&T network from a representative of the carrier.

Apparently, the handset will keep its Galaxy S II name, instead of being called Attain as previously rumored. It should appear on the carrier shelves in late Summer or early Fall, with the date 1 September repeatedly mentioned in the conversation. That would put the AT&T Galaxy S II in direct competition against the next iPhone, which is supposed to appear at about the same time. Read more »

And if you were worried that changes run deep enough to prevent the Wave II from getting the nod for an update, you can calm down now. For Mr. Blurrycam has just delivered a video, showing the smartphone running the latest Bada release. Read more »

There’s just so many iPhone rumors these days that it’s hard to keep track. Luckily, here comes this Brazilian tech site to the rescue summarizing them all and creating a hot-looking concept based on them.

iPhone 5 to be thinner, lighter and harder to manufacture

by 876 comments

Those iPhone 5 (or 4S) rumors just aren’t going to stop until Steve Jobs finally steps on stage and reveals the next best iOS smartphone. MacBook Air lineup to get i7 CPU and 400 MBps NAND flash storage this month

by 552 comments

It appears that Mac OS won’t be the only Apple thing to get a major update in July. A really juicy rumor has it that the MacBook Air lineup refresh will be announced along with the Lion availability in a couple of weeks’ time.

Right now Apple’s most compact mobile computers are more of glorified netbooks than proper laptops with their low-grade CPUs. However if the rumors are to be believed those will get a significant update, including Intel i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge processors and a latest generation NAND flash storage. Read more »

Apple to look elsewhere for ARM SoC production in 2012, much to Samsung’s dismay

by 25 comments

It seems that rivalry in a key market with Apple may have cost Samsung a valuable customer. Thus far Apple has been sourcing their A4 and A5 chips that they use in their products from Samsung but it seems due to increasing tension between the two companies Apple may be moving to someone else to make their next generation ARM SoC.

The company that is said to be most likely to take over from Samsung is Taiwan Semiconductor Marketing Company. Apple’s next generation processor, dubbed the A6, will most likely use the foundry’s 28nm process Read more »

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer second generation coming Q4 2011 at the earliest along with quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3, Padfone with Ice Cream Sandwich and more

by 298 comments

ASUS is on track to releasing the second generation Eee Pad Transformer late this year, probably some time in October. The tablet-slash-notebook will probably pack the NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset, which is said to feature a quad-core monster of a CPU. Reportedly the company is also releasing a second Padfone with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and making available the Eee Pad Slider and a 7″ Eee Pad MeMO tablet with 3D support this year.

This information comes from respected Chinese source Digitimes.com and we are really hoping it’s true as it will bring the next evolutionary step in tablet world. The next Transformer crossover between a tablet and a netbook will offer the Tegra 3 chipset, rumored to be the 5x faster than Tegra 2 Kal-El. The original Transformer single-handedly put ASUS over its competition in the non-Apple tablet manufacturers club with 400.000 shipments in the first half of 2011. Read more »

Microsoft plan on bringing self-branded tablets to market in 2012 but are they cool enough?

by 17 comments

It doesn’t take a genius to note that thus far the Windows 8 tech demos we’ve seen have had a big emphasis on touch interface and share a heck of a lot with Windows Phone’s Metro UI. What is more Windows 8 will almost certainly be hitting a host of tablets as well as the next generation of desktops and laptops.
