First Sony Xperia Z Ultra AnTuTu benchmark surfaces

by 69 comments

A screencap showing off an AnTuTu benchmark score of what is allegedly the just-announced Sony Xperia Z Ultra has surfaced.

We haven’t seen the Snapdragon 800 chipset and the insane clock speeds of its Krait 400 cores before, but as expected it was easily able to top spot the AnTuTu charts. Here, it outperforms even the alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 Advanced (under its codenamed SHV-E330S.) Read more »

HTC may have just hired Robert Downey Jr. to promote its phones

by 54 comments

HTC has broken its bad streak with the HTC One and are looking to continue improving by stepping up marketing. How? By hiring Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., to promote HTC’s phones.

Bloomberg reports that RDJ won’t be playing any of his famous characters, he will be himself, which is just as awesome (though admittedly Iron Man and the metal-clad HTC One would have gone well together). Read more »

Nokia EOS unibody leaks again, this time in yellow

by 23 comments

Another day, another Nokia EOS leak. The body of the upcoming super phone from the Finns has leaked in a multitude of colors, and this time around it’s yellow. The large circular hole where the 41MP camera should go shows some of the internal structure of the EOS, but unfortunately there’s no camera.

By the way, the body seems to have been photographed on the exact same surface as the one from yesterday’s leak. This image doesn’t definitively resolve the question “polycarbonate or aluminum”, but along with the number of colors we have seen seems to weigh in favor of polycarbonate. Read more »

White polycarbonate body for the Nokia EOS photographed

by 74 comments

Aluminum or polycarbonate? It seems that Nokia can’t make up its mind – or the info from various tipsters is unreliable – as the Nokia EOS bodies out of both materials have been photographed.

The yet unannounced 41MP sharpshooter has leaked in Black, Red, Yellow, Silver and now in White too, except there’s no consensus of the unibody’s material. Read more »

Prototype iPad 5 and cases for it leak, suggest an iPad mini-like design

by 77 comments

The iPad mini is selling well and Apple might be thinking of adopting its narrow bezel design for the big iPad too. Photos of a prototype iPad 5 along with cases for it have leaked, but we only have someone’s lap to give us a sense of scale (otherwise it might just be an iPad mini, take this with a pinch of salt).

The iPad uses a 4:3 screen, which makes it quite wide and the iPad mini got around that with very thin bezels on the left and right of the screen. Read more »

A blurry image of what looks like an upcoming dedicated gamepad for iOS devices has made the rounds on the internet. Despite the far from perfect nature of the photo however, the large white Logitech G-series logo on the controller’s left side leaves little doubt about who its manufacturer is.

The gamepad appears designed as an enclosure around iPhone 5 or the latest generation iPod Touch. Read more »

by 47 comments

The Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship phone is split into two versions – with Snapdragon 600 chipset and with Exynos 5 SoC. Could there be a third one with Snapdragon 800? Quite possibly, according to an AnTuTu benchmark result for the SHV-E330S, which showed up with a 2.3GHz CPU.

That is supposedly the Galaxy S4 LTE Advanced model for Samsung’s home country of South Korea (which is where the benchmark was run too). Read more »

Analyst thinks a cheaper iPhone will launch ahead of the 5S in five different color options

by 53 comments

There’s a lot of talk about Apple introducing a cheaper iPhone (even if Phil Schiller said no) and analyst Brian White thinks Cupertino will also break it’s black and white color scheme to introduce 5 color options on the “iPhone mini”.

There’s some evidence that Apple will introduce a third color option for its iPhone flagship, so colors might be on Jony Ive’s mind. Also, the iPod touch (an iPhone without the “phone”) does come in five different colors. Read more »
