BBM 2.0 for iOS and Android brings a host of new features

BlackBerry announced that a major update is coming to BBM for iOS and Android. Version 2.0 of the popular adds a host of new features to the popular messenger, headed by voice calling.

Voice calling works over both Wi-Fi and cellular connection and allows a user to call his/her BBM contacts anywhere in the world. The feature is available free of charge. Read more »

‘Universal Store’ for Windows and Windows Phone leaked

Google Play Music 5.4 update brings offline radio and much more

Google will soon start rolling out v5.4 of the Google Play Music app for Android and it brings with it several useful changes. One of them is the addition of offline radio feature that lets you cache radio stations within the app for offline playback. Just choose the ‘Keep on device’ option for a station to save it on to your device.

The Play Music app will also let you manage all your associated devices. The online service has a limit of 10 devices and to add more you need to deauthorize old ones, which previously had to be done through the web interface but can now be done from within the app itself. Read more »

Sony D6503 Sirius KitKat lockscreen UI leaks

Yesterday, we saw some screenshots from the upcoming Sony D6503 ‘Sirius’ smartphone, said to unveil at the MWC 2014. The screenshots showed us the camera interface with the option to record videos in 4K and 1080p60 and stills in 20 and 15 megapixel.

Today, we have the screenshots of the lockscreen interface on the D6503. The lockscreen has been redesigned in KitKat to display the album art fullscreen but Sony is sticking to its own interface design, showing the album art in a tiny square next to the playback controls. One new addition is the progress bar to skip through the track and the addition of camera button at the bottom. Read more »

New Samsung S Voice app stars in an extended screenshot session

A new batch of leaked screenshots of the redesigned S Voice app has hit the web following earlier leak that initially hinted at upcoming changes. The new screenshots confirm Samsung is taking a new approach to the design of its TouchWiz UI and proprietary apps, of which S Voice is a major part.

In the latest version of Samsung’s personal virtual assistant, the company has entirely redesigned the app’s user interface. Well now a preview has surfaced, garnished with a bunch of images and it says that the app’s voice detection is noticeably faster, but not as good as Google Now. Read more »
