HTC One (M8) climbs to the edge of stratosphere, comes back with video footage

As part of its Creatography movement, HTC teamed up with the British garage inventor/YouTube sensation Colin Furze to showcase the video capture chops of the One (M8). The end result from the team up is 1080p footage at an altitude of 106,500ft (32,461m), with some firework along the way.

In order to make the trick happen, twelve balloons were launched, each carrying between 2 and 4 HTC One (M8) units. Read more »

Improved camera performance and new shooting modes were only two of the upgrades brought by the Lumia Denim update, but for smartphones such as the Lumia 930 they are certainly among the more important ones. The high-profile cameraphones got HDR capabilities as a part of its latest update and now we get to see the feature in action.

,The year 2014 is almost done but Meizu isn’t done quite yet. After unleashing their yearly flagship device, the Meizu MX4, the maker has put forth a bigger and badder smartphone in the face of the Meizu MX4 Pro.

The Meizu MX4 Pro earns its Pro moniker with a slightly bigger display – 5.5″ over 5.36″, a much higher screen resolution and pixel density –
1536 x 2560px and 546ppi. That’s a solid 128ppi increase over its predecessor.

HTC has been holding a weekly deal on its official website for the US for a while now. Unlike past offers, though, today’s deal isn’t going to expire in mere hours. In fact, it’s valid all the way up until January 2. If you purchase any handset from HTC’s website before then, you can get a 20% discount.

Who wants to know more about group selfies, a.k.a groufies? Okay, for all the three of you, Huawei created a very nice infographic detailing their significance in today’s online world.

Here are some hard groufie facts – in the period between August 1 and October 31, 15,200 groufies were posted on Instagram. They received more than 67,600 likes and 20,000 comments. We don’t envy the person who had to count them, but this data is enough to convince Huawei that front-facing cameras need to more oomph. Read more »

Savelli Ruby Limited Edition is a luxury $57,500 Android smartphone for women
