TomTom is a respected GPS tycoon, which makes receivers and also provides the map data and know-how. Now it looks like it’s thinking of branching out into the street viewing business, which is Google and Microsoft exclusive territory so far. We guess those two wouldn’t exactly appreciate that.

NVIDIA has launched their first gaming notebook GPU in their 500M series, the new GeForce GTX 560M. It supports DirectX 11 and is said to deliver a “no-compromise gaming experience at full 1080p resolution”.

It appears that we haven’t seen the best of the Samsung Galaxy Tab family just yet. Just a few weeks before those super slim Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 hit the shelves, the president of the company’s mobile division, J.K. Shin, went on record saying that they will be releasing at least one more slate this year.
The Galaxy Tab 4G, if we had to take a wild guess for the name, will be released before 2011 has ended, extending the company tablet portfolio to four devices. Read more »
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is scheduled to receive Android 3.1 update in the first half of June. Sure enough, the update leaked out and it seems to be the final version. Some improvements were made along with some bug fixes for the dock.

We mentioned that Samsung Germany recently updated their online store to include a host of accessories for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. This pointed to the possibility of the 10.1′s official release very soon and our suspicions look to be on the money.

Another device has arisen to join the ranks of convergence devices, among the likes of the Dell Streak and the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0, there is now a new 5-inch tablet-phone to add to this unusual lineup.
The Pantech Vega No.5 is a competent machine, not to be confused with its recently released, similarly specced smartphone brother, the Pantech Vega Racer (which for a start has a smaller 4.3″ display). The Vega is chocked full of decent hardware; performance wise it holds a dual-core 1.5GHz (MSM8660) Qualcomm processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and comes with 16GB of internal memory (plus an SDHC card slot for removable memory). Dell has launched the spiritual successor to the now defunct Adamo series. The new XPS 15z is claimed to be the thinnest 15-inch laptop on the planet and packs in some serious hardware for the price.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been tantalizing us for some time now and still we must wait. We’ve seen it pop up in Russia and there’s word of its release in India. Pricing and spec sheets are floating around the internet and still we must wait!
The good news is that June should see the worldwide launch of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Samsung have kept schtum thus far on an official global release dates but in specific regions, days and months have already been hinted at and if it’s available in one region, it’s release elsewhere won’t be far off. We’ve spoken of Toshiba’s upcoming 10.1″ Android tab on numerous occasions before. It made an appearance at CES and we caught that back in January, specs popped up from BestBuy in early April and a scheduled release was slated for June in Japan.
