Game On: Gametel Gaming Controller promises real gaming for Android gamers everywhere

by 31 comments

Mobile gaming has been a fast growing market, especially since Apple’s App Store propelled game companies and developers to dizzying heights once they’d gotten the ball rolling (Rovio’s 51st title became pretty popular, you might know it).

So far however, the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY has really been the only device with the mobile gamer truly in mind especially on Android. A new peripheral however, hopes to level the playing field somewhat with a classic D-pad, four button, shoulder button configuration, one that retro games will know and love. Read more »

See how the new Nvidia Tegra 3 works and what it’s capable of

by 33 comments

Nvidia’s new Tegra 3 is the next big thing in the world of mobile processors and has everyone excited. But looking away from its impressive spec sheet, we know little of what it’s really capable of. So to give us a little demo, Nvidia has put up a series of videos on YouTube and we’ll be taking a look at some of them.

First of all, here is a look at the way the five cores function on Tegra 3. Although it is advertised as a quad-core system, there is a fifth companion core designed to handle less intensive tasks. Depending upon the current activity the system automatically switches between the companion core and the performance cores without any special optimization from the software side. Read more »

Activision releases new Modern Warfare 3 trailer, features Sam Worthington, Jonah Hill and Dwight Howard

by 15 comments

It seems Battlefield 3 has stolen Call of Duty’s thunder, with the latter not generating as much interest as its predecessors. But Activision is not going to give up, not when the game is so close to launch. So here comes another trailer for the game.

But this is no ordinary trailer. It features live-action video with notable actors such as Sam Worthington, who plays a veteran gamer and Jonah Hill, who plays, you guessed it, a newbie. The video is actually pretty well made and not as cheesy as such videos usually tend to be. There is even a cameo in the end by American basketball player, Dwight Howard.

GTA V trailer goes live, right on time [VIDEO]

by 40 comments

Just as promised, today Rockstar released the first trailer for its hotly anticipated GTA V (that’s five) game. The trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the gameplay of the upcoming action title, but gives us a rough idea of the kind of graphics we’ll be getting.

The story in GTA V will take place in the fictional city of Los Santos in California (Vinehood is in the neighbourhood too). Ok, it’s not the real Los Angeles, but I doubt this will steer too many people away from the game – real city or not, this one is still high on the wish list for millions of gamers around the globe. Going to play Battlefield 3 on a console? Then you better get the HD texture pack.

by 26 comments

Just one more day is left for the arrival of the highly anticipated Battlefield 3 for PC and consoles. The main reason why the game has drawn so much attention is because of its graphics, which seem to be pushing the boundaries of what is currently possible in games, in a way no game has done since the original Crysis came out four years ago.

From what I can tell, it is going to be the best looking game on the PC. But what if you have a console? Well, EA has an optional HD texture pack for you which will bump up the texture quality to make the game look almost as good as the PC version. But from what I can see from screenshots, this HD texture pack seems more mandatory than optional. Read more »
