Mortal Kombat X trailer packs a lot of blood and brutality

When it comes to one-to-one battle games, Mortal Kombat is the first name that crosses an avid gamer’s mind. The popular martial arts style fighting game will get a new installment dubbed Mortal Kombat X on April 14 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are expected in coming months.

Razer Forge Android TV console is now up for pre-order, ships on May 1

Back in January, Razer announced the Forge TV, a console that’s probably the best Android TV-running device yet (when considering specs and capabilities). And today it’s finally become available for pre-order. Amazon is offering the console bundled with a game controller for $149.99, with free shipping.

Speaking of which, the Razer Forge TV bundle is set to be out on May 1. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 SoC, sporting a 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 420 GPU aided by 2GB of RAM. Read more »

Cloud gaming service OnLive is shutting down on April 30

OnLive, the cloud-based game streaming service was introduced six years ago and was way ahead of its time. Today, the cloud gaming company posted a message on its website stating that the gaming services will shut down on April 30.

Sony to push 2.50 system update for PlayStation 4 tomorrow

God of War III Remastered coming to PS4 on July 14

The God of War franchise is having it’s tenth anniversary and Sony is celebrating it with the God of War III Remaster announcement for the PlayStation 4.

Fans of the series will be able to relive (or live) the third major installment in the series on their new PlayStation 4 in glorious 1080p. Along with updated graphics, the remaster also brings with it the photo-mode, that lets you freeze the game and adjust the camera angle and add filters to create photos, which you can then share online. ‘Modern Combat 5: Blackout’ goes free on iOS and Android

Gameloft has decided to make Modern Combat 5: Blackout free in its next update on iOS and Android. The game was priced at $7 at launched and didn’t have any in-app purchases, but that’s about to change now.

In the next update, Gameloft is adding a couple of other things just making the game free. There is now controller support (I could have sworn it was there before too), new soldier class, and a new weapons class. But if you’re someone who paid for the game, you receive Veteran Status, which gets you unlimited energy for life, veteran exclusive kill sign and camo, and 200 credits. Read more »

Nintendo partners with DeNA to make mobile games

For years, Nintendo has been adamantly avoiding the mobile platform, refusing to bring its much loved collection of games from its own consoles to the massive mobile market despite all the demand.

But it seems that the company has changed its mind. Nintendo has partnered with DeNA to make new games for the mobile platform. This means these will be new properties and not existing games such as Super Mario Bros. or Legend of Zelda ported from existing Nintendo consoles, but will feature Nintendo’s characters. ‘Tales from the Borderlands’ for iOS and Android game review

Borderlands is a series of first person shooters with a role playing element for consoles and PC. The original game spawned a sequel and then a pre-sequel, that fit between the first two games.

Tales from the Borderlands is nothing like those games. It is made by Telltale Games, the same studio that made games like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and most recently, the Game of Thrones.
