We reported earlier this month on Rovio’s plans of releasing a game based on the Pigs from the Angry Birds series of games. Known as Bad Piggies, the game lets you play as the Pigs for the first time, although not much was known at that time as to what you’d be actually doing in the game.
Rovio has now released a gameplay video that gives a glimpse of some of the activities you’ll be doing in this game. If you were hoping to be able to fling pigs back at the birds then you’re going to be disappointed, as this a completely different game altogether. Read more »
If there’s one thing Gameloft’s good at, it’s consistently bringing console quality games to the small screen. Some of these are perhaps too close to some of the console titles out there, close enough to be labelled as clones, but for those who want to experience some of the audio visual glory that they are used to seeing on the big screen in the palm of their hands, these games have rarely disappointed.
The newest title to fit this description is Wild Blood. The first Gameloft game to feature the exceptional Unreal Engine, Wild Blood promises gory hack and slash action with stunning visuals that the engine is known for. Let’s see how well it manages to do that. Read more »
The Nintendo Wii U, the successor of the highly successful Wii, has been officially announced with pricing and a launch date for Japan. Later today there will be a Nintendo event where they’ll reveal the worldwide launch plans. The exact specs of the new game console are still not clear though.

Gameloft has released a new trailer for their upcoming hack and slash action game based on the Unreal Engine.
Wild Blood is a third person action game based in the medieval times and follows the story of Sir Lancelot. The trailer shows off the expected impressive graphics along with some exciting combat elements. Having let you successfully fling birds at pigs using slingshots in all sorts of environments for the past three years, Rovio is now turning things around and letting you control the pigs for the first time in their upcoming game.
Called ‘Bad Piggies’, this game will tell you the pigs’ side of the story and also let you play as them but without any slingshots and a ‘never-before seen’ gameplay. Read more »
There have been rumors floating around that Steam is planning on entering the gaming hardware market, either by making their own console or a gaming PC. Now Steam has finally come forth and confirmed that it does indeed plan on entering the gaming hardware segment.

Archos has put Android to use into some unusual devices (e.g. a home phone and an alarm clock), but now it has turned its attention to mobile gaming with the Archos GamePad. The GamePad has a 7″ screen (though details like resolution are missing right now) and a set of hardware controls.
The tablet is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Mali-400 GPU. The OS is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which has built-in support for game controllers, but Archos has also included a technology that automatically maps the game inputs on the hardware controls and claim it supports over a thousand currently available games.
