Seriously, the 808 beats most portable point-and-shoots, we know. But these are NOT “portable point-and-shoots”, they are specialized cameras with *huge* zoom lenses. If you shoot your 808 at 5 MPx, you get the equivalent to 3x optical zoom (again, the same as a portable point-and-shoot) zooming all the way and losing the PureView benefits. If you shoot with this, you get 10 times more zoom and higher resolution. There is absolutely no way to compare, they are different devices.

I’d keep the 808 in my pocket, easily accessible, to grab every instant I could. And have an ultrazoom/DSLR for when I plan to shoot specific pictures, where the extra flexibility from the cameras will outweight their, well, weight.

As a retailer, I have to say it was most disappointing.

The screen is horrible, doesn’t pack a zoom, and inside photos look plain horrible.

Also it’s bulky, heavy, ugly, and the buttons are barely tactile.

“ISO range of 100-800?” Seriously? So these two cameras are useless if you wanna shoot at night.

808 is THE smartphone camera king with amazing capabilities you wont believe your eyes when you use it. Saying that it is nothing to these cameras is definetely not the right thing.
808 is something, and remember, carrying 808 with you gives you the oportunity to take pics and vids of fantastic quality without the need to carry these little bricks with you.

haha people seriously need to do there home work, no phone will be as good as these kind of camares, well they might in a few yrs but by then digital cameras will still be many yrs infront.

The title is wrong: it should say “sx160″, instead of “sx150″.
