errmm who said the tiles were STATIC?? They show live information and can be used to interact... and yes, LIKE NO OTHER MOBILE PLATFORM HAS EVER DREAMED OF - the wallpaper and the icons/widgets; this is the standard on almost EVERY smartphone available today. Lumia has negated this completely by providing the user something different up front!...

hehe u will not believe me but i have used a S3, and it was a decent experience.... but i don't like the touchwiz interface anymore... too much clutter, too many widgets drain the battery pretty fast, frequent crashes, all the crazy steps you gotta follow if u want a custom ROM... (bricked my phone a few times doing it ) were a few of the reasons why i stopped using it and returned to my trusty N8....i want the change... simply because i know that the tiles could pretty much do the same thing like on the touchiwiz UI...in a much simple but comprehensive manner. and i love the interface... it's sooo simple... yet so classy!... and yes i am a nokia fan but i do have a lot of respect for Android cz i am a linux user

No! Gsmarena like what is original and innovative! I am not saying that Android is 100% original. At the begging, it has copied some things and the major look from Java (yes, from Java, not from that crappy-Apple products), but after that Google tried to develop its look and its functionality. It has with every new release many, many new features. I could remember some like Google Now (and yes, Apple copied Google`s Voice Actions with Siri), Photo Sphere, Offline dictation etc. Lately, they are very, very original and that ``Calling All`` ad was their idea. And now, Microsoft is copying it and saying ``we are different from iOS and Android with our live tiles``. Ha! Ha! Ha! What is so wonderful with your tiles? You said WP8 is the most personal mobile OS, then why I cannot choose an Wallpaper? Why I cannot have some screens with my ICONS, my SMALL icons somewhere where I could put them how I want? This is why GSMarena doesn`t like them and Apple. They WERE innovative, but now they are living by stealing others work!

seriously though? this post is dissappointing ...i miss the old gsmarena, the one that strives for unbiased and unprejudiced incite on tech and phones, if i remember correctly posts like this started when u posted a spot for a US member of your team, im not saying whoever got the job did this to you, im just saying thats the time i started feeling a difference on how you guys posted reviews, because before then, you will never read a snide remark on an unpopular phone, but actually will try to show the good pts of it instead, sigh .... about the videos, the vp from microsoft says it all, while android is made for everybody, this commercial says each phone is an individual like its owner is different from anybody else...shish

There are only so many ways to market a phone. Wether it's an Apple, Google, Samsung, Nokia or Microsoft commercial it all comes down to a bunch of overly-active-facebook-user-types holding devices. And those horrid city-bikes, and hipsters with their fat rim non perscription glasses, bleh! At least Google managed to slip in some proper BMX dirt jumpers.

These fail meserably when compared with the new VW Golf tv ad: "Der Golf. Das Auto." nuff said, makes me laugh out loud every time. Pure, simple, to the point - the German way.

You know where the widgets are? you have a widget for every need... depends on wich phone you use, but in my, I have an contact widget where i can let any contact, or gruop on the homescreen, it can be just a small widget, or as big as the whole screen (on that page), a messagin widget where I can either show messages from only one contact, or all messages...
Download and install facebook app, and/or facebook messenger, there (FB messenger) you can see both (fb messages and sms) from that contact at onee place... and of course you get some widgets with the FB/FBmessenger apps... for the FB app you get an live update for what you need, and for the FB messenger you can set it to (again) either just messages from one contact, or the whole list...

I really don't get when someone says that wp is better for costumisation (or anything else)... whatever you can do on wp phone you can do it on android and even more...

So in my mind, everyone that ever used an android phone (properly) can tell that...
Thanks for your reply, and have a nice day ;)

Well ... personalization in my term is .. well ... when I can set my device to reflect me. Not just the way it shows information (like live tiles in WP or widget in Android), but also arrange those information the way I need it.

In WP, I can group people and see a glance of what's new on each group without even need to open facebook apps. This, can be handy when we want a quick look at what's news around us without opening any apps (other than contact app that is). And none of iOS nor Android can do that.

Oh, and ... when someone text me earlier, and I found him online on facebook chat, I can reply to that instead, and still see the whole conversation intact without the need of switching between messaging/SMS and facebook chat app respectively.

So in my mind, personalization is, to make the device reflect it's user preferences. WP fills my needs, Android fills yours. So what's the point arguing which is the best here (I'm asking to anyone though ... not just @PetritAvdyli:disqus since he just retaliate to @facebook-532515231:disqus)
