Apple iTunes to get a colourful makeover soon

Apple announced the iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan at the WWDC two weeks ago. Among the announced features, the iTunes makeover was surprisingly missed. Yet, the Apple Developer site carries the images of OS X El Capitan interface on MacBook with new iTunes app icon.

Not only that, even the iOS 9 developer pages has the placeholder image bearing revised Music app icon. Both iTunes app icon and the Music app icon get a colourful treatment, moving away from the single color app icon background used so far. Read more »

Pushbullet’s Portal app enables wireless files transfer to Android devices

Pushbullet introduced a new Portal app that allows transferring files from a computer to the target Android device directly over Wi-Fi. So if you have some large files on your PC or Mac, you can use Portal app to transfer them to the Android phone or tablet without having to connect it physically with the computer.

Portal app from Pushbullet functions very similarly to popular AirDroid, which offers more features than simple files transfer. To get started, you have to use the Portal app to scan the QR code at the Portal web page as it appears on a PC or Mac. Read more »

Yesterday, Microsoft and Sony dazzled the gamers with new announcements at the ongoing E3 2015 gaming convention. Today, one of the gaming powerhouse Square Enix shared details about upcoming titles, as well as new games during its press conference.

First up is the stealth-based assassin series game Hitman. After the formal announcement during Sony’s E3 conference, new gameplay footage was revealed, while the game is expected to release on December 8 for PC (via Steam), Xbox One and PS4 platforms. Read more »

Google makes the Play prepaid vouchers available for India

Google has finally brought its Google Play prepaid vouchers (gift cards) for buying digital content to India. The new Play prepaid vouchers will be made available from physical stores in INR 500, INR 1,000, and INR 1,500 options. The Google Play prepaid vouchers are already available in 28 other countries.

The Google Play prepaid voucher like every other voucher contains a unique code to let you purchase digital content in form of apps, eBooks, games and even rent or buy movies. Multi-player combat game BATTLECRY gets worldwide open beta

Bethesda’s Austin-based studio Battlecry has formally announced the worldwide open beta of its upcoming multi-player third-person action combat game – BATTLECRY. This fast-paced multiplayer game offers three factions, 15 warriors, and five classes to choose from.

At the E3 2015, the new Han Republic clan was announced to join the Cossack Empire, and the Imperial Marines. The five warrior classes are fully customizable to be selected and engage in the 12 v 12 and 6 v 6 player battles. These battles can take place in variety of gaming modes and maps. Read more »

Bethesda’s Fallout 4 set to release on November 10

Bethesda Softworks announced the release date for most ambitious post-apocalyptic game project Fallout 4 at the E3 2015 event. This role-playing game is the fourth installment in the Fallout series and will come with several new cool additions.

The game developer’s official Twitter account shared the Vault 111 animation gif showing off the 11-10-15 combination as the release date of Fallout 4. The RPG game takes the smartwatch style wearable device called Pip-Boy to a new level by providing access to the inventory system. The Fallout 4 Collector’s Edition will also pack a Pip-Boy but only select units will be sold. Read more »

Bethesda shows off Dishonored 2 with new lead slashing steampunk robots

Bethesda Softworks has officially announced the sequel of its popular stealth action-adventure game Dishonored at the E3 2015. With two playable characters, the new Dishonored 2 is developed by the same game makers who worked on the first part – Arkane Studios.

Dishonored 2 trailer shows a new protagonist set in a new city, seeking something and uses strange smoke-driven grappling power in order to teleport or jump between buildings quickly. Read more »

Waze app adds the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator

Waze brought Arnold Schwarzenegger and his Austrian accent to its navigation app. The movie legend will sound like the Terminator in the voice-guided navigation feature of Google’s community-driven application.

As per the teaser image shared on Twitter, the celeb’s finger clearly shows State of California Governor’s ring on it. This initiative is also meant to promote Arnold’s upcoming movie Terminator Genisys which releases on July 1. Read more »

Skype for Web Beta is now available to everyone in the US and UK

After weeks of testing, the Skype for Web beta interface is now being rolled out for all users based in US and UK regions. The new Skype for Web beta aims to bring the official app’s functionality to the Web for competing with WhatsApp and Telegram.

Skype for Web is available for existing as well as new users to login and start using the interface for voice calls and instant messages. Sony SmartBand SWR12 inadvertently revealed by the companion app

Sony has probably meant to launch the SmartBand 2 with more fanfare but instead the device got leaked by the SmartBand 2 app for the Android platform. Apparently, Sony SmartBand 2 SWR12 with heart-rate sensor is set to be announced formally in a day or two.

The SmartBand 2 companion app also teases an image of the SWR12 SmartBand 2 with the heart-rate sensor on the inner side. As per the details, the heart rate sensor measure the pulse at an even rate through the day. Read more »

Steam Link, Steam Controller now available for pre-order

Valve promised to release SteamOS for the general public in November. In the meantime, Steam Link and Steam Controller have been quietly put up for pre-order at the Steam Store. For the time being, only the ‘add to wishlist’ option is visible but the ‘more like this’ at the bottom of the listing reveals the price.

The multimedia streaming device Steam Link has been listed at $50 while the Steam Controller is also listed for the same price. The Steam Controller is meant to be enjoyed with Steam games. It features HD haptic feedback, two trackpads, one analog stick, and dual-stage triggers to engage in any kind of gameplay. Read more »

AMD launches 6th Generation Carrizo A-Series processors

AMD has announced the new 6th Generation A-series processors previously codenamed “Carrizo” and built on the 28nm fabrication technology. Three new Carrizo family A-Series models are announced – A8, A10, and FX – for the notebook platform. These new mobile chips promise twice the gaming performance and two times the battery life against the Intel’s offerings.

The new AMD A-series processors pack 12-computing cores which include 4 CPU cores based on the Excavator microarchitecture and 8 GPU cores based on the 3rd Generation Graphics Core Next architecture. Valve launches 2-week no fuss refund policy on steam games, DLC and more

Valve’s game distribution service Steam has been updated with a new refund policy. Under the new Steam Refunds policy, you can file for a refund for any reason within 14 days of game purchase and game play of less than two hours.

No matter if your PC didn’t meet the hardware requirements, the game was purchased by mistake, or you just didn’t like the game after playing it for an hour – Steam will grant you a refund. Read more »
