Cortana to support English UK soon

Microsoft announced via its official Windows Phone UK Twitter account that its brand new Cortana voice assistant will be supporting English UK soon.

Currently, Cortana is only officially supported in the US and only works with US English. Read more »

Apple says iCloud security was not breached in Australia and New Zealand hack attacks

Yesterday Apple users across Australia and New Zealand were hacked away from their iDevices. Apparently their iCloud accounts have been hacked by people hiding behind the pseudonym Oleg Pliss and thus the connected iDevices were locked remotely.

Today Apple has issued a statement claiming this has nothing to do with any iCloud breach. The people who lost their Apple IDs to Oleg Pliss were simply using the same email and password on another service that got compromised. Read more »

Samsung has introduced three new Gear devices alongside the Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone. The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are Tizen-based smartwatches, while the Gear Fit is more of an enhanced smartband running a proprietary OS.

The three Gear wearables are compatible with a limited number of Galaxy devices, but given how many Galaxy smartphones Samsung ships each quarter we are sure many people are probably considering getting a Gear. But which one is for you? Read more »

The LG G3 first official promo video is out

LG G3 was announced just minutes ago with a 5.5″ QHD display, Snapdragon 801 chipset and a 13MP OIS+ camera with laser auto-focus. The device will be hitting South Korea tomorrow, while the rest of the world will get in in the next couple of weeks.

Nokia Lumia 630 battery life

Nokia Lumia 630 is the first smartphone to run Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box. It is also the first WP handset ever to offer dual-SIM support, but we had the single-SIM version at our disposal.

We weren’t particularly optimistic about the phone’s 1,830 mAh battery, but the quad-core Cortex-A7 processor should be quite energy-efficient. Anyway, Nokia promises 600 hours of stand-by or half a day on 3G talks in one charge. Let’s check if we can squeeze the same from our Lumia 630. Read more »

Windows Phone 8.1 Developer’s Preview has been out for weeks and it brought so many new features that even today we keep discovering new ones. The latest one making the rounds is the option to backup 16MP, 18MP, 34MP and 38MP Lumia HD pictures to OneDrive.

NVIDIA Tegra K1 benchmarked, kills Snapdragon 801

NVIDIA announced Tegra K1 back in January, but it is just today when we are seeing the first device to utilize it – the 7.9″ Xiaomi’s Mi Pad. The chipset packs four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 192-core NVIDIA GPU. The 64-bit Tegra K1 will premiere next month.
