$36 million worth of goods stolen at gunpoint from Samsung factory in Brazil

A group of around 20 men armed with submachine guns raided a Samsung factory in Campinas, Brazil, late last night.

The thieves entered the factory disguised as part of the night shift, loaded up seven trucks worth of smartphones, tablets and notebooks, and got away with some $36 million worth of goods. Read more »

Foxconn to bring in 10,000 robots as iPhone 6 production ramps up

Foxconn, Apple’s primary Chinese manufacturer for its iPhone smartphones , is allegedly incorporating some 10,000 robots into its assembly line process in anticipation of heightened iPhone 6 production.

Foxconn is still currently in the final testing stages of the robots, which are each expected to produce 30,000 smartphones. Read more »

Microsoft introduces new macro Instagram competition for Nokia Lumias

Nokia, or should we say Microsoft, has introduced its latest monthly competition through Instagram, where Lumia users are given the chance to showcase their macro-shooting skills.

Samsung releases TV spot highlighting the Super AMOLED screen on the Tab S

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S has raised a lot of eyebrows (including our own) with its impressive Super AMOLED screen of 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution.

Native folder support likely coming to Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, which decided to forego separating its applications into folders as part of its “Metro” UI, is apparently willing to reconsider this decision.

Google Glass gets an update as Google I/O event nears

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 goes up for pre-order, US units start shipping on June 30

The latest iteration of Microsoft’s popular Surface tablet has gone up for preorder on Microsoft’s online store, and is set to hit brick-and-mortar Microsoft and BestBuy retailers in the US in limited quantities.

The Intel Core i5 128GB/256GB models will ship by June 30 in the US, while the Core i3 base model with 64GB of internal storage, as well as the high-end Core i7 models with 256GB/512GB memory will start shipping on August 1. Read more »
