DVDs, CD’s, were all patented technologies that were available, practical and had attractions for adoption by others. Nano Sim is intended to be similar, so might eventually be progress.
However the 9 pin is Apple propriety connector that will only be used by Apple – its not for wider distribution. So it’s not for progress, its for increasing dependency on Apple products

I remember the EU banning import of phones without standard micro USB connectors…how does apple ship it’s phones in Europe then?Are they the EXCEPTION?Wouldn’t surprise me…money grabbing bastards.
