Think it will best best with racing games. I have just about every racing game there is on my iPhone 3gs. They play great with the accelerometer, but eye strain occurs as the screen is just too small to concentrate fully on. So would that be considered a useful thing for the iPad? Playing racing games without constantly going blind with having the screen 3 inches from the end of your nose? I probably wouldn't really consider getting one just yet. Maybe a 2nd gen one after any teething problems are rectified. Bet it's easy to accidentally sit on it!! Especially with young kids around (Learned that one the hard way with my old iPhone!!)

Also, what about putting a web cam on it? We do video calling with friends and family abroad using my 11z. But having to take sooo many bits and pieces for the laptop makes it a fairly cumbersome item and takes up considerable boot space. Even though it's still really classed as a net book and almost half the size of big daddy laptops.

Why not put speakers on the front of it? If you are watching a film, wouldn't you prefer the sound coming towards you, not away from you??

I have an iPhone so all of the tools the iPad has that would work in a similiar way are of little interest. Many others interested in an iPad may feel the same way. The "killer" iPad use for me would be if the long battery life and excellent display would translate into a useful document reader. Laptops are too bulky to pull out and have too short a battery life, not to mention a profile that is not comfortable to use. The usefulness could be evaluated either using Apple Apps or 3rd party apps such as "Documents to Go".

If an iPad could allow 1: easy document transfer to the iPad (pdf, doc, ppt, etc.) 2: Ease of viewing of these documents, even with smaller point size text (screen gloss too high to see in windowed areas ?) 3: Ease of navigating through the documents (page by page or 1/2 page up/down, or only poor line by line scrolling controls ?) 4: Ability to revise and annotate the documents (highlight, add text notes) 5: Ability to export the changes back to a laptop while maintaining the original Microsoft format.
