You guys got it partly wrong.
Intel is still pulling the same shenanigans with OEM manufacturers when it comes to AMD products.
Just look at the zacate E family of fusion APUs ( e350, e450 etc)
The E series slaughtered the Atom family in every way possible even price yet many Brands like Acer, Dell etc still used the Atom for majority of their netbooks and other low end devices.
Why?
according to my friend working for Acer's Logistics department, Intel immediately implemented
a lower priced volume purchase scheme with retro price rollbacks even for already purchased lots of Atoms. Meaning if you subscribe to their pre-sell of Atom orders, they will offer you rebates on the Atoms you already have.
Imagine how the OEMs reacted.

I used to deal with used laptops and its well known that ATI in laptops is a bad thing, they just dont last. We see tons of broken laptops like ThinkPad and HP NC series that cannot be fixed due to the ATI chips disintegrating. These are generally good laptops with intel processors.

Thats true for the newer types, but as you know, ivy bridge core i3 competes with 6 core AMDs in many things, if for example image and video editing is an area of interest then AMDs are so weak and useless that its hard to understand why they sell CPUs at all. You sure do not buy with the head when you go for AMD.

And the old i3s did 50% OC on air, stable. Sometimes more but it was hard to get the bclk high enough on some, and thats nothing new, its like the FSB walls on lga775, old problems always come back in new wrappings.
