Sheamusi think they are either trying to pull users into windows phone platform by giving them taste of metro UI (and also easy to port apps but still touch base vs normal desktops too difficult) or ran out of ideas.

1. Windows cost $$$$, ubuntu FREE

2. Ubuntu Sleek, Windows bloatware.
I bought a notebook, with a friend. same notebook. core i5 with 2GB RAM. Mine without OS, he's with Windows 7. Mine feel faster and zaapier with Ubuntu.

3. Manufacture didn't lost a dime when giving user a choice.... and FYI, 80% notebook sold in Indonesia without Windows. Even the brand name such as Toshiba, Sharp, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, HP, DELL.

for android part, i guess, for apple not going to happen. I actually don't think these W8 tablets or hybrid tablets are going to make much difference in sales. It might have same future than WP7 phones, people expected them to be big hit, but they have been total flops.

Don't get me wrong i'm interested of WP phones and also these W8 tablets, without iPad i would definately might buy one instead android tabs, but for value of money W8 tablets are far from what iPad can offer. These can easily compete with android tabs.

Actually most of people including me have used Windows our whole life, maybe people want something different now and there's good options instead bying windows again so we'll see what happens.
