i really don't believe it's true. if you aim for a smartphone, only 2 OS exists as mature ones. i too think that android and maemo can become competitive, but for now they are just a new cool toy, no apps no nothing. but for now it's symbian, perfect for non-tweaking fanatics, lots of apps, but no customization at all and wm, ugly but like a dog you teach him the tricks you want it to perform. that's why wm sells and htc of course. oups, what ? i forgot iphone os? that is not smartphone os, is like 2 years old lg flash os

dont know what to say... wm6 just needs visual improvments and more freedom for the end users( enabling more tweaks in the sistem from the start). i think the battle will be apple ang google( until i see new symbian and bada), but they will have advantage from the start... So, google will rule the world in 1year time...

After reading the article its clear, Microsoft is taking the charm off WinMo. Its selling point has been thrown in the bin.
No more Active Sync, no Flash support, no real multitasking, won’t be able to install anything unless it comes from official sources, no backwards compatibility with older Windows Mobile software, not allow the use of custom interfaces (Windows Mobile 7 really won’t need them). There are more no's then yes'es.
They have taken a step back from where Maemo and Android is heading.

Hi to everyone;

Like many of you said, the real details about the new WM7 will be released during its presentation on MWC. Still, let us hope that the new WM OS doesn't go down the "iphone path", what we want is flexibility, an OS that doesn't restrict the hardware lying underneath, an OS that lets us decide what we want to install and from where, an OS that lets us decide what's best for each and every one of us.

I still am a Symbian guy, but i have used (and liked) WM on different devices, and I don't want the features that made WM a viable option to go away.
