Samsung Galaxy Core is here for review, we start with a video hands-on

The Samsung Galaxy Core is currently headlining Samsung’s midrange lineup along with the Galaxy Win and Galaxy S4 mini. It brings a fair set of features for a price hovering around the $200 mark, which makes it ideal for emerging markets and money-conscious buyers.

Our unit has the optional dual-SIM support with dual stand-by so you can hit a two birds with one stone purchase, bringing a holster for both your SIM cards and getting solid smartphone experience with the backing of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

We’ve compiled a video showing you the Galaxy Core in action along with a glance of its retail box.

At the front the Samsung Galaxy Core offers a 4.3″ WVGA (480 x 800) TFT display while inside a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex-A5 processor, the Adreno 203 and 1 GB of RAM make things tick.
Imaging is handled in 5 MP by the LED-enabled back-placed camera but there’s also a VGA front-facing one to handle your video calling needs.

Storage tips at 8 gigs but you can expand that with the microSD card slot. You can access that along with the two SIM card slots, one of which is hot-swappable, by undoing the back panel. This also gives you the option to replace the 1800 mAh battery should you need to, which is always a nice option to have.

Our unit comes in Chic White color and, aside from the display, is entirely made from glossy plastics. It will get smudged pretty easily but you could let that slide given the removable back panel. The screen has nice colors and decent image quality. Viewing angles are pretty decent as well and the 217 ppi is sharp enough for web browsing or watching movies and pictures. Despite not being the device with the thinnest bezels the Galaxy Core is easily operated with one hand and isn’t a burden for your pocket thanks to its 124 g of weight.

We’re hard at work on the full review so stay tuned.
