ARM and the Manufacturers that license their instruction set are ramping up so quickly because they have the knowledge of Intel and AMD’s mistakes. That way they can avoid the growing pains and take advantage of all of the advancements that have already been made. ARM is starting to become a serious competitor to the x86-64 instruction set. And they’ll keep growing because they have a better understanding of low power than Intel and AMD do. Just look at Intel. For all of the money they pump into R&D, they still cannot make a chip that competes with ARM on power draw.

more like a waste to me to help contribute environmental damage material. All we need is simply an efficient softwares, not something like Android and Windows, half baked OS. I think we should all focus on BSD instead.

Anyone know how many ghz (per core)the 8 core ‘Wayne’ chip will have ?

The snapdragon S4′s will supposedly have 2.5ghz quad core, released in Q4 of 2012 and the ‘Wayne’ will be released afterwards. So anything upward from 2.5ghz per core for CPU?

You are an idiot. Intel/AMD x86 archictecture is way more complicated and there’s more transistor on die, which means lots more heat. You simply can’t pack that much of a core into a die without massive overheating.

Anyway, the Nvidia multi cores are nice for Android tablets….but the question is…WHERE’S THE APP?? The fact is Android is still way behind in the iPad market by 2-3 years….if Tegra is to take off (and Android), more software showcasing the power must be produce. I am considering buying a tablet soon myself, most likely i’ll go for an Ipad2….it’s the software that counts, not hardware. In 2 or 3 years time, once the Android tablet market explodes, then maybe it’s time to go to Android tablet.

BTW, i am no iFag. I use an Android phone.

Why bother hooking it up to your friend’s HDTV when your phone could have a built in projector? The only thing you’ll need is a decent sized wall to project on, or you could bring a roll up screen.
