The fact that this is mentioned here on a phone blog is merely incidental. Think of this as the guts of a tablet, meant to be used as a desktop (with monitor+keyboard etc.), where the point is to make it very, very, very cheap. Also, see my post above.

As it’s accurately quoted in the article, “it’s a bare-bones computer intended to boost interest in programming”. It’s not meant as a production / office general purpose computer – think of it as a cheap-enough-to-be-disposable computer you can afford to let your kids do whatever they want with (and hopefully learn to program in the process). Kinda like the Spectrum or Commodore of the eighties.

A computer does not need to have a screen.

screens, input and output devices, power supply and sensors are just peripherals, not the computer itself.it’s being compared to a smartphone just to showcase that even a cheap hardware can provide respectable performance.
